Can apples be bad for you?

Beautiful sky Asked by helpangl over 2 years ago, 6 answers.

As part of my biology my teacher was talking about abusing healthy foods and set us a question to find out if even the most healthy food can have negative affects. I read online about an apple and water diet. Now I no of course more foods are needed in a...

stable diet but I'm interested in the apple part. Could eating up to 6+ apples a day be bad for you?If so why? and, as weird as this sounds...if they could become bad for you simply because your body just wouldnt be getting enough fuel to run, is there an amount of apples that would supply a sufficient amount? Cheers for any help and if this is confusing please feel free to email me...im really finding it hard to do this piece of work lol xXx

Research suggests that apples may reduce the risk of colon cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer. Like many fruits, apples contain Vitamin C as well as a host of other antioxidant compounds, which may reduce the risk of cancer by preventing DNA damage. The fibre content, while less than in most other fruits, helps regulate bowel movements and may thus reduce the risk of colon cancer. They may also help with heart disease, weight loss and controlling cholesterol, as they do not have any cholesterol, have fibre (which reduces cholesterol by preventing reabsorption), and are bulky for their caloric content like most fruits and vegetables.

A group of chemicals in apples could protect the brain from the type of damage that triggers such neurodegenerative diseases as Alzheimer's and Parkinsonism. Apple phenolics, which are naturally occurring antioxidants found in fresh apples, can protect nerve cells from neurotoxicity induced by oxidative stress.
The seeds are mildly poisonous, containing a small amount of amygdalin, a cyanogenic glycoside, but a large amount would need to be chewed to have any toxic effect.

Apple consumption can help remove trapped food and clean between the teeth, but the malic acid contained within the fruit is also capable of eroding tooth enamel over time, and through excess consumption.

Well, for some people it can cause stomach cramps, diarrhoea, constipation and sometimes heartburn. I didn't get this information from a leaflet, I'm simply talking about what I've seen apples do to a person's health.

Dont eat too many apples or fruit because you will have too much fibre in your body which can cause many problems when you wanna go to the loo! :P
Hope I helped! xoxo

Apples also contain a trace amount of arsenic your body needs it (trace amounts) anything in excess is not good, I have more on this if you want to e-mail me, I have a nutritional whole food home business and have studied this for two years.

Has anyone noticed the rise id illness and disease in the last 20 years? do they not wonder why? Green harvesting and soil depletion are at an alarming rate. Your grandfather had to eat 1 serving of spinach we to get the same amount of nutrients need 21 servings to equal what he recieved...I find that staggering and scarry.

Your body needs a balanced amount of nutrients to run in an optimal mannor, if not it does not react correctly and begins to break down faster then normal. hence the auto-Immune illness epedemic and the chronic pain issues in our country.

We are rated high as far as Trama units are concerned but when you talk about maitaience and disease prevention we are 36th. pretty bad stats...People now are used to getting a precription to help then (stay healthy)**That is not health, health is not feeling good , or taking a pill and equaling out your problem witha drug, that a bandage for an already broken down system.

We can't really get a proper diet any more, Americia eat what we call the SAD diet.
Standard americian diet, we eat pizza, fries, chips cookies, soda gosh, and we wonder why our nation has the obesity rate that is has.

Again too much of anything is very bad for you, not enough of ever nutrient is bad as well, as it will alow our body's to break down faster and be more prone to illness and disease.Thats why there has been the increase that we have had.

I have information if you would like to see more e-mail me.
Hope some of that helped.
