Can a wife slap her husband?

My wife is very loving, caring and passionate about me. The other day we two were having a romantic discussion in our bedroom. Appreciating her caring nature and being little emotional I said that 'The day she will stop caring about me, I will...

'DIE'...She suddenly reacted back by hitting a liitle intense slap on my face. I was stunned at her response and confused. She immediately said 'Sorry' on realizing the intensity of slap and begged for pardon. She however explained that she just slapped for 'STOPPING' me from uttering the bad word like 'DIE' from my mouth. She loves me lot and was very fearful that uttering such word might result in any unpleasant happening 'of such nature'.

My 'MALE EGO' is saying that 'How could you be beaten from your wife?..It's a shame for a male (husband) to be beaten by her wife...She doesn't respect me anymore...she will rule me all my life as she has now started dominating me...etc etc. Specially Indian society is 'Male-dominated society'. Though I am an educated husband yet I am also being influenced somewhere by this society and not being able to get rid off the wretched feeling.

Please advise and help me out.

She didn't beat you, for starters, so get that idea out of your head.

I think it's perfectly ok, and there's no reason to be upset. She probably just acted on impulse, and as long as she really was sorry for hitting you (I wouldn't know, you'll have to judge), I think it's not a big deal.

She explained why she slapped you...the thought of that she could someday be without you would be unbearable for her. Was how she expressed this okay...no, but it was not something you would consider beating or abusing. You must make it clear to her that you felt bad when she slapped you and you wish her never, ever to do that again. She did not do this out of anger but of deep sorrow with her thought. Find it in your heart to forgive her for this or you will be the one who will be sad and push her away. Talk about it with her and tell her is must never happen again, forgive her an move on.

Flipping heck it was one slap! Which she then apoligised for and explained why she did it which was a perfectly fine explaination as it wasn't out of anger it was because she loves you so much! This is hardly abuse! I'm sorry but build a bridge and get over it! People get slapped every day! They don't start shouting abuse and going oh god I'm not a man anymore!

yes, a wife can slap her husband. The husband's rightful place is under the authority of her husband. He should always obey her and be in subjection to her. I am a husband who has come to realize the truth that all women are superior ro all men, therefore we must yeild to them always. Everything a husband does should be approved by the wife. If all men would learn this, they would be much happier and the world would be a better place.

F*** all that. I personally, will NEVER, EVER hit a girl. It's just not in me to do it. But thinking from a non biased stand point, if a girl wants to hit a boy, the boy shouldn't feel like he can't hit her back. Women have fought for their rights, and they've gained them, and they definitely earned them. But if they want to be so equal, they should also want to take a beating that a man will give them if they deserve it(or if the man can even beat the women up..). To me, it's almost sexist to not fight a girl just because...she is a girl and you are a male, and I hate when people aren't given equal opportunities, good or bad.
