Well first of all you need a certain amount of calories to simply survive...
I am pretty sure this is more than 1000...
400 calories a day is not enough to survive on...

no in all reality the total is 1400 and the total is 400 because you have burned the 1000 off... so do you loose weight...???
and I know you need so many cals.. my body needs like 1400 cals but that is not including burning off the 1000 lol

you'll burn your BMR each day just to survive.
you can find calculators on the net.

for instance if your BMR was 1,400...then in a day you'd burn 1,400 cal's.

so if you ate 400 cal's = +400
then take off the 1,400 cal' BMR = -1,000
then take off the 1,000 cal's burnt during excercise = -2,000
so as you see from that you've lost 2,000 cal's in a day.

btw for each 900 cal's you lose 1lb.

than if that is the case if you burn off all the cals you eat so that would make you 0 you would loose a lot more than right???
how did you find all that info out? julie...
and 900 cals really?? that is awesome

Yeah be careful though thats only if you do nothing so you will loose weight but the muscle first, gotta keep moving and exercising but its always more output then input to loose weight! and the more you do things the higher your BMR gets, mine for instance is 3400... I am currently trying to gain weight (muscle) and im having the opposite affect I need to eat constant to survive lol, But I also Kick Box and run frequently and keep in prime shape so its soo high, Good luck

Remember More output the Input, Eat what you want as long as its healthy and you burn it off plus more exercising

Unfortunately, 900 calories will not make you lose weight. That would make Weight Loss so easy, wouldn't it?

1 pound= 3,500 calories

You could, but probably not because 3,500 calories equals a pound, so you burned off 600 calories, because you ate 400, so you would need to burn 2900 more calories.
The Weight you have lost is probably water-weight or Muscle.

your body , each day burns between 1500 and 2000 cal a day so if you consume even 2000 and burn off 1000 even though most of it will be water you will lose weight
