Honestly, why buy the lowest-end Mac model for $1k when you can get a great computer with great graphics, like an ASUS, for $700? Apple charges *so much* for their computer just because they are popular. ASUS computers have 512mb of graphics card memory at the minimum. You'd get much better specs for your money with a PC.

1.) how long does the laptop last?(years)
2.)should I buy the protective plan for $250?
