Bushqueta

Asked by crazycool over 3 years ago, 5 answers.

I forgot to take my pill on a saturday and I made love to my boyfriend that day and the next morning unprotected. Should I be worried about getting pregant. Im only 16 and I am a honor student and in a lot of leadership programs a child would ruin my life.

There is a chance. In the older leaflets with pill packs a 1 day miss just meant you had to take the pill as soon as you remembered (even if it was at your next pill time and you were taking two. Then you should be fine BUT...

Some women followed this and got pregnant. So FDA made them change it. If you miss one pill take it as soon as you remember even if it means taking two with your next pill. Then you should use backup -a condom- for 7 days untill your protection is back ( taking 7 days of pills makes you protected but untill then, although you are taking pills you can get pregnant.)

I hope I make sense. I forgot a pill one time and had sex... and followed the older instructions. I didn't get pregnant. It just matters if you ovulated or not within that time you missed it and the 7 days. I bet things will be fine, if your period is late then get a preg. test as there is a slight chance.

I've made the same mistake. luckily, it worked out fine for me. there is always that chance though so next time you are supposed to get your period and don't or if you notice any of the symptoms that can indicate pregnancy, buy an at home test. I'm sure everything will be fine. good luck!!

oh by the way, my doctor has told me that if you miss one it could potentially be a risk for a month, but that might depend on the type of birth control pill you are taking

Yea it depends on what type of pill you have. Check the instructions with your pills and call your doctor or gyno.
