Burning bamboo

Asked by irrismith about 1 year ago, 2 answers.

Has anyone ever burned bamboo in a wood stove and how does it burn? I've got a bunch of old bamboo poles I want to get rid of. Pro's and con's anyone?

It can be burnt just like fire wood you just need to make sure it's been sitting dry for at least 3 months or it could make a firework type effect. Also be sure to cut it in cylinder shaped pieces.

I'd think bamboo would burn hot and fast...be careful at first, until you get a feel for just HOW hot it's going to burn...don't over stuff the stove, until you know.
