Bulimic, any advice?

Me surfing in Oahu Asked by oceanh3ro about 1 year ago, 6 answers.

So basically I'm bulimic and have been for the past four months. When I started it wasn't that big of a deal to me but lately it's been getting worse and worse to the point where I throw up anywhere from 1 to 3 times a day. Sometimes (like now) I really...

want to stop but don't seem to know how. Other times I could care less and enjoy binging and purging my food. It's getting out of hand and I know I need to stop but don't even know how to begin. I could never talk to my mom about this sort of thing because we don't have the best relationship. I just don't know who to talk to or even what to do. Help anyone...

and here i am again. Answered by sillygirl006 on Jun 27, 2008, 11:14PM

remember that bulimia often goes deeper than just wanting to be thin. I'm not a doctor or anything, but you probably of possibly have some issues that you need to deal with that are hard for you. so this may be your way of coping. you really should go and talk to some sort of counselor.

if you absolutely cannot do that (which, we all wish you would for your health), then tell your friends your problem and ask for their support. talk to them about everything and ask them to help pull you out of this.

I've been bulimic for about 3 years, since I was 13 I've been dealing with eating disorders. I throw up more than 7 times every day, its a living nightmare. tell someone before it gets to the point where you do yourself irreversable damage. im 17 now. I have stomach ulcers, I strugle with bad depression, I never have my periods, I've lost all my friends, my whole life has been completly put on hold just for my bulmia and im totaly lost. talk to your doctor. the longer you dont say anything the harder recovery is. you dont have to tell your mom at first if you dont want to, but you need to talk to your doctor, they can tell you all sorts of ways to help you get through this.

I HAD A FEW PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS and IT CAME FROM that... and I WENT ON MEDICINE and CRAP BUT NOTHING REALLY HELPED ...U know what HUN... TALKIN TO SOMEONE MIGHT HELP BUT IT DIDNT HELP ME. NO SHRINK COULD HELP ME EITHER. and I REALIZED ITS ONLY ME MYSELF WHO CAN HELP NOT NOBODY ELSE. I HAD ENOUGH WILL POWER TO GET BETTER... and DANG IM SO FKN HAPPY I DID... because I WAS SERIOUSLY GETTING DISGUSTINGLY SKINNY and I STILL THOUGHT I WAS FAT... OO YA ON TOP OF that IM 50... IMA STAY HEALTHY and LOSE WEIGHT THE HEALTHY WAY... FK that BULLSH*T... SERIOUS... you know your EVENTUALLY GNA HAVE TO STOP because you WONT EVEN GO ON LIVING IF you GO ON LIKE that ANYWAY SO BETTER TO JUST STOP LIKE COLD TURKEY KEEP URSELF VERY OCCUPIED KEEP URSELF STRESS FREE and LEARN HOW TO ENJOY LIFE... FOCUS IN ON THINGS THAT INTEREST OR RELAX U... HOPEFULLY your STRONG ENOUGH TO OVERCOME IT!!

hey.l
so I basically have the same problem.
I've been bulimic for more then a year now, it wasnt as bad as first, I stopeedd for a bit, then it came back. I see what you mean by like enjoying to bing then urge, sometimes I relly enjoyed it, and others I totally hated it. I talked to my friends just this year, because I was getting a lot worse, like it affected my body badly. try talking to a relly good friend, but prepare for the worst, some friends may leave because they dont understand. just b carefull on who you tell. and its okay I've still havent told my dad about me being bulimic, but I've told newer freinds, ther are probably tons of people who care for you and will try to help you even if you dont feel ther is.and to help to stop, just excersice a lot more, it kinda helps me.
funmail me if you have any questions orr just needs someone to talk to =]
oh and if your thinking I have no clue what your feeling, trust me I probably do.

Don't try to handle your problems alone. If you can find a way to talk with a counselor or therapist that would be the best step you could take. Remember, the things you do now and the decisions you make are going to affect you for the rest of your life.

You are welcome to Fun Mail some of the Advisors when you need to have someone to talk with. Just being able to rant a little about your problems can help you see them in a different light. Fun Mail is relatively private so you don't have to worry about what you might want to talk about.

Please speak to someone like a parent, friend, doctor, or counselor. I still can't control mine and it has been atleast 2-3 years. IT IS TORTURE.
