Can i go from brown to blonde?

My hair is naturally a very dark brunette almost black. Plus I also have naturally tanned skin. I have a hair appointment on Thursday and I don't know what colour of highlights to get. Some of my friends say platinum blonde but I don't think that would...

look so good. And I have had red already and that looked okay but I didn't really like them and I want to go very light but I don't know how light is to light. and if it is any constellation, I have very very dark eyes and medium length hair???

Hmm this is a tuff one , I have the smae hair colour and eye colour and tanned skin and I had blonde highlights but after a week they went an orangey colour and it wasn't pretty, that was meant to be a medium blonde and I used pre-lighteners. so I think if yooh do want to go blonde try a dark blonde. hope this helped yooh decide.--xX//*.

man you should go all out and get pink, ocean blue, or lime green highlights! my friend got hers with lime green and she had blackish hair and it looked totally pimp!

Yes, you can most definitly go from brown to blonde, you could go from black to blonde. You just have to make sure you have the right colouring kit or go to a salon. If you plan on doing it yourself, buy a bleaching kit, not just any blonde one. Read the label fully and make sure it says it has bleach in it. Once its all in your hair and everything, put a plastic bag over it, the heat needs to be kept in for it to fully work. Put a clip on the plastic bag so the air doesn't escape and leave it in till all your hair is done, it wont work right away, be patient.

I wouldnt go with platinum...I think that warmer,golden colors are much more flattering and more natuaral looking...personally when I see girls with bleach blonde hair all I can think of is a bleached,washed out barbie.
