Breaking into the acting business

Hello everyone,
I loved acting ever since I was in fifth grade and wanted to pursue a career in it. My mom is okay with it but she thinks that it is a tough business. Now I know it is, but I still wanted to do it. But I don't know where to begin. That, and I'm afraid of what I will do if rejection comes my way. Tell me, what am I getting myself into before I go deeper until I can't get out?/?

I think the best thing to do is get a good agent. They will help you get headshots and find auditions to go to.

Also, they should tell you if you stink.
