How many legs are there on the bus?

Assuming the only passengers were the girls et.al.
If Alice and Kate took all their baskets with them
368 legs

Each basket has 6 felines - 1 mama and 5 kits - that's 24 legs
Each girl has 5 baskets - that's 24 x 5 = 120 legs
So each girl represents 122 legs (don't forget the girl's legs!)

So if two get off (the bus) with their baskets, that leaves 3 girls, OR
3 x 122 = 366 legs!!

The two additional legs in my answer ... the bus driver.

bimjob, you and I may have made a mistake
I say that because it says each of them have 5 baskets there are 5 cats in EVERY basket. every cat has 5 kittens.
so that would be 5 cats and 5 kittens in each basket each with 4 legs - so thats 100 legs
each girl has 5 baskets -so thats 502 legs (I added the 2 legs from the girl)
so if 2 get off with their baskets then 3 girls are left - so that leaves 1508 legs on the bus (2 more for the bus driver)

however if read it exactly as it is, it doesn't necessarily that there is a bus driver or that the kittens are on the bus so then the answer could be 306 (unless I did the math wrong, which I might have)

ahem, I'll try again
Each basket has 5 Cats (adult variety) and each Cat has her own 5 cute kittens, so each of the feline families has 6 members (6x4=24 feet)
each basket has 5 feline families (5x24=120 feet)
each girl has 5 baskets (5x120=600 feet) plus her own two (600+2=602 feet)

If two girls get off with their baskets and related feline fuzzballs, that leaves
three girls with (3x602=1806 feet) plus the bus driver's two (1806+2=1808 feet)

Do you realize how heavy those baskets had to be - at least 45# apiece.
Those were some seriously strong girls!!

The answer is 2826 (I watched the show until it ended because it was driving me mad) … . I have tried lots of different permutations to come up with THEIR answer to no avail… There is word play in the Question has to be it doesn’t make mathematical sense
