My friends have braces and play field hockey, and the orthodontist gave them their mouthguards. I don't know if it's different for Karate though.
Yeah, I had braces last year while playing hocky and I had a mouthguard on.
yea you can. it's actually a very good idea because you don't want to break something in your mouth and a mouthgaurd helps you avoid hat.
I would know. I didn't have a mouthgaurd on in soccer once and I got hit in the mouth and my gums and cheek got stuck up in my braces. it hurt.
Yeah, that random person at the grading said so. (So it has to be true).
Is it possible to get them not from the orthodontist? because They usually charge heaps.
if you want to do competition karate you have to wear a mouthguard or else you wont be able to compete. I am in the australian team for karate and so is my friend and she has braces and wears a mouthguard. I also have lots of friends that are on the state karate team and they have braces and wear mouthguards. just go to the dentist and get one.

Can you wear a mouthguard with braces?
If I want to spar (practice fighting) in Karate, I have to have a mouthguard. Only problem is, I have braces. What do I do?
