Specialized is a decent brand for mountain bikes and a few years ago, I got a specialized BMX bike...not the highest end, but pretty good. It really depends on how good you are, if getting the lightest / best bike will make a difference in your performance.
For me, the 2nd best one was more than enough and at my age (32, lol) the impact of bunny hopping is a bit much for me, so I'm done, lol.
