Blue highlights in brunette hair

I'm wanting to get like a blue highlight like under the top layer of my hair, but im wondering with that will I have a goth/emo look? Im not really into that, Im just a pretty normal girl. Im 14 and then I have blue eyes and blue stud in my nose.

Blue a good color to get without having that emo/ gothic look?

umm blue is cool ik a bunch of normal girls at are school did a pink streak on the left side on the patch of hair thats right behind your ear..(underneath the top layer) it looks pretty cool but I personally don't like dying my hair funky colors because its dry already...

Yeah, cause im just going into a new highschool so its like [personally] Id rather stand out, than fit in. But I dont want to stand out in a way thats taken as 'emo' or 'goth', you know? Not that I have anything against that, im not the sterotype type lol

I did it for prom, I dyed it to match the shade of blue in my dress, but then again I am one of those obnoxious little sceneXcore chicks who's in a metal band and my prom date dyed the front of his hair blue to match and wore skinnies instead of the dress pants with his tux jacket. So I may not be much help.
