Bleaching your hair

Does bleaching your hair one time ruin your hair permanetly. Like will it nvr be the same as it was in the beginning?

Puting anything foreign in your hair will ruin it. We all put stuff in our hair that wasn't meant to naturally be there. Bleaching it, coloring it, lightening it, highlighting it, it all does damage. Your hair won't fall out if you bleach it once. If it's done right.

I pretty much asked this same question, and it will kill your hair. But after you grow it out it should be pretty healthy again. Just as long as you take care of it.

Please ignore dawn's advice. Putting anything foreign in your hair will not ruin it. What's foreign to hair? Anything but hair? So be advised -- in dawn's household, they clean their hair by scrubbing it with more hair.

There are plenty of safe ways to lighten or bleach your hair. It is true that you risk some damage to the follicle, but if it is performed by a professional, it is nothing that cannot be reversed. Plenty of women and men bleach their hair every day with no ill effects.

Thank you once again mikeh for your input. what I mean by foreign is all the beauty products that woman and men both put in their hair. I think everyone on here got that and you just want to be a jerk to me, once again.

Over time, yes they do as a matter of fact, and we continue to buy them because they make our hair look pretty. Just with anything else to be pretty, we suffer the consequenses by using unnatural products. It would be cool, mikeh, if you could just save your mean comments for yourself. they don't impress anyone.

Actually 'Mikeh' she was saying that anythign besides shampoos and conditioners will ruin your hair.
Gels, hairsprays, coloring,bleaching,highlighting,lightening,darkening,flat irons,hair dryers, curling irons, chlorine, hair wax etc. Will ruin your hair. It won't kill your hair but It will ruin it, and I would actually like to see you source that told you they wouldn't ruin your hair.

You probably, eat food right? Well they produce bacteria that lead to plaque that will ruin your teeth, its a wonder you still eat...

Ok for the answer to your question, Bleaching your hair is safe, my sister has done it. It will not ruin it permantetly. So go for it if you really want ot bleach it!

Well, until that study surfaces, everyone else will be glad to know that there is an entire industry out there dedicated to providing all-natural beauty products that not only strengthen and nourish the hair, scalp, and pores, but make you look purty to boot. Many of these products can be found at sites like: http://www.alternative-beauty.com. So rest assured that despite the dire consequences listed on this question, the continued use of beauty products is not bad for you and will not ruin your hair.

no if you know how to keep your hair up. wash it with Dove-for colored hair keep oil sheen or something on it b/c if it gets too dry it will break off then the damaging begins! Trust I KNOW!
