How can I fix my damaged hair?

I have naturally dark hair, for 2 years now I have bleached my hair and it’s getting to the point where it’s breaking off really bad. Would it help if I went back to my natural color?

Hey I am a fellow hair bleecher But with bleeching comes the unfortunate damage it causes But that can be easily fixed What you have to do is get some intensive moisterizing serum And dont wash your hair with a silicon based shampoo and conditioner or else there would be no point in putting the moisterizing serum in your hair You see silicon is like cling wrap, it wraps your hair in it and then no moister can get thru … So just keep an eye on it =]

When you say YOU bleached your hair, do you mean you did it yourself at home or did you get it lightened at the salon? Unfortunately, when something like hair breaks, you cannot fix it. But you can take steps to rejuvinate you hair. Going back to your natural color will not repair any damage but it may help “hide” the amount of damage you have. Lighter hair shows even the slightest mistake. Do not brush your hair when it is wet or damp. Use a comb and gently comb your hair. When using a brush it pulls your hair and causes it to break even more. Have your hair trimmed maybe 1/4 of an inch all over. Do not try to get all the damage cut out at once. Let healthy hair blend into the damage and this will also help camaflouge the breakage. If you don’t use conditioner, start, and let the conditioner set in your hair for a minimum of 5 minutes and rinse with cool water. Rinsing with cool water helps close the cuticles, therefore leaving you hair more under control. Finally, use a silk pruduct in your hair, I prefer Biosilk, but there are others less expensive. Apply a tiny amount of a silking product throughout your damp hair before combing. I would not usually reccomend using a non-salon product, but shampoos and conditioner ssuch as sauve and v05 contain a lot of wax and the wax build up will help to cover damage. I hope this helps.
