Blackberry aim

I have the blackberry pearl 8110 and I was on media net on it and found an application for IM.
so I downloaded it and it lets me sign on and shows my buddies and I can IM people,
but if someone IMs me it doesn't show and like twice a minute I get a...

from the number 1111470500 and the message says WVCI 1.1 1234567
how can I get this to work properly?

Most blackberrys are not aim compatable. Go to your phone store and say help! They can usually make it work. Good luck!
