really well but dont take it for a long peirod of time case you may never be able to have kids

Birth control is about 95-99% effective WHEN USED AS DIRECTED.
If you miss days you might as well not take them at all.
And you CAN get pregnant after you stop taking them.
They don't protect against STD's.

depends on what kind you are using pills, condoms, IUD, vaginal ring. Each different contraception has a different percentage of how well it works in preventing pregnancy.

Vasectomy: Almost 100 per cent
Female sterilization: Almost 100 per cent
The Pill: Almost 100 per cent
Contraceptive injection: Almost 100 per cent
IUS (Mirena): 98 to 99 per cent
IUD (the coil): 97 to 98 per cent
The mini-Pill: Around 98 per cent
Male condom: 90 to 98 per cent

Diaphragm with spermicide: 90 to 96 per cent
