Birth control shot

Is anyone on here on the birth control shot depo provera?does it make you gain weight?what are the other side effects? I am giving birth in march and plan on using depo as my form of birth control.

my sister was on it and shes now off of it cause she hated the
side effects she would get real sick everytime she ate so she lost like
a lot of weight so the best descion was 2 get off of it

I tried using it once but gal I didnot like it.I didnot gain weight but I experienced irregular menses which were at times too much.
I hate depo with a passion.I was a stressed lady then ,but no anymore.
Why dont you try oral pills they work superbly with me.

My best friend was on it and she had her period for 6 months straight, until she finally stopped getting it. I was on it and had no problems with it. It depends on the person some people have side effects and some don't. I've never really heard of anyone gaining weight while on it though.

My sister took it for a while, but it caused her to gain 50 or so pounds.
I believe that she experienced a 14-15 day long period as well.
Also, the pill has the lowest risk of infertility later on...the depo and the insertible rings the risk of infertility is quite high...it could happen in less than 5 years.

I was on it for a year and half best birth control I was ever on I gained about 10 lbs and that was it I didnt have any of the side effects like everyone here is saying but its really effective and you dont have to remember to take anything and... year for the people with the side effects you should have just gotton off of it its not for everyone it just depends on the person takeing it

Im on the depo provera now and I have not gained weight. I actually lost about 16ibs being on it I love it its nice because I dont have to worry about birthcontrol for three months at a time and the shot doesnt even hurt you dont feel anything. and also my periods are really light and sometimes you wont get your period its nice lol everyone says you gain weight but the doctor told me you only gain weight if you eat a lot she said it will make you hungry but if you tell yourself oh I just ate an hour ago and not eat til you need to you will be fine hope this helped
