There are family clinics that will provide birthcontrol to young adults who want them and will not tell your parents out confidentiality. I don't know if they will give you an exam.

Thirteen is a young age to on birth control, the side effects may be too harsh and difficult for you to deal with on your own. The effects range from woman to woman and it usually requires trial and error as to what works best with your body time. 8 out of 10 times the birth control your sisters and mother use will work best for you. It can only benefit you to talk with your parents or at least mother to think this out better.

Although you are being safe as far as getting pregnant you still have to watch out for STD's. Having birth control pills will still not protect you from the STD's out there including HIV/AIDS. It's dangerous and sad but the majority of HIV/AIDS infected persons out there are under the age of 25. Sex with a condom will be just the same if not better because you know you're being safe and protected. Think this through and make the smartest choice.

The only "birth control" options avaliable in drug stores are spermicides and condoms.

You have to see a doctor, gyno or go to a family planning clinic to get the pill, IUD, nuvraring, the shot or the patch. Most clinics require that you get a check up. It is recommended that once you start having sex, you should have annual check ups.
