Bing & black tartirain cherry trees

Asked by jonnyappleseed 4 months ago,

I recently bought a couple of sweet cherry trees about six foot tall. I planted them on my property about 30 miles away from home. I returned the next morning to water them again and found that the deer in the area had a very good meal of cherry leaves....

Out of an act of kindness or insult they left just a few leafs at the very top. As it is still early in the summer is there any chance that they will grow new leafs or are these trees a lost cause? I have fenced them since Thanks in advance.
