Big thighs are field hockey thighs?

I decided to go to that field hockey camp, and I loved it. But when we were going over drills and stuff, the coach told us we needed to get lower, and hockey players have big thighs because they are so muscular, and it's a good thing. I was just wondering, Is it true?

It could be because you build a lot of muscle when exercising for a long time, and it would be good because you would have good healthy muscles.
