pain is the last thing you need to worry about with peircings.
learn about how to take care of it and possible things that could go wrong. navel rings take about 6 months+ to heal, so dont change it before then if your planning to

To me, pain is about 3-5. Can't say it hurts because its more to uncomfortable. But you got to take really good care of it. Navel piercings get infected easily. It may lead to migration or rejection too.
