Bass or guitar?

Well I'm going to have to learn to play an instrument and my options are bass guitar and the normal guitar which is better? and if I play the base do I have to learn how to play normal guitar before I learn how to play the base?

Bass is easier... and you do not have to play a normal guitar first. Bass guitarists are very necessary but not many people take it up. Good ones are hard to find because everyone wants to be a lead guitarist. Go for the bass!

no you do not have to learn a guitar in order to play a bass. None of them are 'better' but both instruments play important roles in a band. some people think the bass is limited but if you get really good theres many things you can do. look up victor wooten and you will know what I mean.
