A lot of job applications ask for details about any past convictions you may have. Employers will then decide whether your felony conviction may effect your work if hired. They also should take into account that this happened about 6 years ago, and you seem to have matured since then. In the least, you never know until you try, right?
It depends on the job really. Any kind of more strict government job they go deeper and check your child-hood legal things, to check for any possible trauma that might or might not have been recovered from. But it really depends on the importance of the job. Other than that it doesn't check past highschool.
