Baby shower

What is a affordable location to have a baby shower? I want to make the food to save money so no restaurant and its going to be in december so cant be outside and the only house we can have it is at my friends apartment and its real small so that wont...

work either. Does anyone got any ideas in general? It's in tucson arizona

at someones house is probably the best idea..is there no one elses place you could have it at?

baby showers don't have to be expensive...it's about you chilling out with some friends more than anything...it doesn' have to be all OTT and massive...some balloona and streamers at a nice touch to the decoration...

in all honesty, if my friend was having a baby and I knew she was trying to cut costs, I'd suggest my place, and suggest that she ask everyone to bring a plate of food...designate a starter, main and desert or just buffet food - but you're pregnantm the day is about you enjoying some 'baby free' time above anything else..

and most venues will charge something, since they either make money on the food or alcohol sold, they need to cover their costs somewere..

if not, try local leisure centres, they normally have a venue room, and ask if they do a discount for weekday or sunday bookings (or when ever there discounts apply) and have the 'do' then..

it's like any 'special' day - it's not about how much it costs, it's about the quality of people there (and the gists lol!!) just kidding..

but my wedding day, I wanted a pub function room, I was happy to do the food and I wanted to keep it very simple - but other people had other ideas...so add a dinner for 70 people, a reception for 250 and you get one very stressed bride!! the point is, it's about what YOU want, not what you think everyone thinks you should have, this is about you and your friends..everything else is just a bonus!

Are you a member of a church? they are usually equipped for a large number of people and have a kitchen...

just do it at your house. no one will care, and the price is free. live the dream.

I agree with april60. Churches are normally good for that type of thing. Or, you could just have it at the apartment. Do they have a clubhouse there? Most do, and most are free for things like this.
