Baby piercings

Why do people feel the need to pierce their babies ears?

I don't really know, its just some peoples perrogative. I know some women will peirce they're daughter's ears because the why want they're child to grow up to be a preppy girly girl.

because so they will have their ears pierced before they get to old cause the babies do SOMETIMES cry but not because hurts them it just kinda scares them all of a sudden but its better to get the ears peirced while their babies then to wait until they get to old I know this cause my aunt and cousin does ear piercing they live in arkansas

I know in some cultures it's a sign of wealth...

I dunno? I dont see the harm in it?

In runs in my heritage to do it as early as possible. No real reason. Just because a baby can have something to show off? It's dumb but I did it for my daughter at 3 1/2 mos old and I regret it now. She is allergic to most metals anyway. I wouldn't advise anyone to get babies ears pierced now.

I dont know, but I think its rediculous.
I really dont think there should be 3 year old with peircings
its dangerouse in my opinion, kids are always getting there heads caught in stuff
and why would someone want there kids to have earrings at age 3?
growing up a bit fast there I think
