Does blu-ray projection tv for ps3 need 1080p or 1080i?

Asked by kathy1 about 1 year ago, 1 answer.

DOES BLU-RAY PROJECTION, AS IN THE PLAY STATION 3, NEED 1080P, ONLY, OR CAN IT ALSO USE TELEVISIONS THAT ARE 1080i? AND IS A LCD HDTV, WITH 1080i ABLE TO PLAY BLUE-RAY FROM THE PS3, WITH THE FULL AFFECT?

PS3 plays full 1080p quality high definition. If your TV is 1080i, there will be a *small* difference, but you can still experience the full effect. We went shopping for a high def tv recently, and the store had both 1080p and 1080i tv's on display...my wife said she could see a difference, but honestly, I'm not convinced there was one.

Some of the games for PS3 also say on teh back what high def output the game is capable of, several limit to 720p, which is less high def quality than 1080i, which is the 2nd best standard available currently.

Hope this helps.
