Clearly you need to start THINKING, instead of spouting cliche theistic statements. Telling people to 'open your eyes' is pointless and arrogant. You're basically telling people who don't believe what YOU believe, that they suffer some sort of handicap. Its that sort of self-serving-superior mentality that makes people NOT want to be theistic in the first place.

Your behavior is a misrepresentation of what is means to believe in god; you'll convert NO ONE by being an assshole... people will associate YOUR behavior, with YOUR views, and ultimately YOUR religion. And NO level-headed person would want to be a part of ''the assshole religion''

It's not believing in god or the afterlife.

Atheists believe you live, you die, and that s it. No heaven, no hell, no afterlife...

It's not believing in an Deity...in other words a God or some other supernatural life form

an athiest is someone who doesnt beleive in any god/religion or higher powers/dieties
but they dont all beleive in the same thing as for what happens when you die
some beleive you just die
some beleive theyll be reincarnated
some have there own theories
ect

It's not a religion, but people usally categorize it as a religion anyway, because so few religious people can comprehend the idea of not having a religion.

I've survived pretty well without one. Thanks, but I choose knowledge over nonsensical fairytales.

TYPICAL, many religious people ALWAYS make this mistake.

Atheists don't necessarily believe in nothing, you can still be an atheist and believe in something like evolution.

So usually they have opened their eyes, and realised that the idea of a god just doesn't make sense and cannot be proven...that is why it is called BELIEVING in god.

Clearly *you* need religion. Some of us choose science, logic and reason. These things have been proven and demonstrated in experiments which can be replicated. I don't need to 'believe' in anything, especially when I have knowledge. I opened my eyes and ears to religion, and found it to be full of contradictions, false logistics, unspeakable atrocities. Perhaps it's *you* who needs to open your eyes to the facts?

Hey people why the inense... malice. You must feel really threatened, capatainassassin? A guy is just making a statement of what he believes and how he sees things. Speaking of typical, lex_icon, it's also typical of some people to verbally try and rip them to shreds. He said,Open your eyes. I happen tobelieve also that science and religion are not in conflict - well, at eastless so than current modern science and the theory of evolution. Just look at the work of a few scientists such as Dr Michael Behe, who has developed the theory ofintlligent design which basically says,some life forms are so complex that there is no way they mutated into that by random chance. They MUST have been designed and made, as an integral unit, and placed in the specific environment which supports them.

Of course they are unpopular. They are challenging the status quo. Universities need to support the popular philosophy of evolution to obtain funding, and to kind of not rock the boat too much. But hey - what do I know?

Next time please friends if we claim to be so open minded - don't prove that you are SO narrow-minded as to maliciously shut people down like that. At least be nice and considerate about it;. And he apologises to you!!? It should be the other way round mate.

WRONG. Is your English comprehension not as good as your Afrikaans? You should read more carefully. You're a little too naive to know what you're talking about. If you actually stay around for more than a week, you might see things diferently. If not, you'll just have to learn the hard way.
