Both are very demanding with elite units - both are tough.
Marines Are Tougher But That Doesn't Mean They Are Better. I Am In The Army ROTC and We Are Just As Good
It all depends on who is shooting at you, the extent of the land mines, artillary fire, sand, dirt, protection, heat, command & support! Other than that, Marine basic training is three months long; army is two.
Beyond that, it depends on who you talk to ...
Regular marine units tend to be a little more combat focused in a 'CHAAARRRGEEE' kindda way. Regular Army units are more strategically trained and tend to follow SOP's and ROE's more than Marines. Now, when it comes to Specialized units, (and im not saying this because im in the army) the Army has better soldiers. Delta and Special Forces, Rangers and the 82nd ALL AMERICAN AIRBORNE DIVISION!!! (ahem, represent!! lol) Did you know that Recon Marines train on Army posts, in ARMY schools ... YEAH!
HOOAH! Airborne all the way.
um marines dude army is an occupying force and nothing more, we go in first, take the place down and kill the sh*t out of the bad guys...then the army moves in and trys to hold down the area..which they obviously cant even do, thats why they're sending in 3200 marines BACK into Afghanistan...oh yea Recon Marines do not train on army posts, thats a load of sh*t. but we actually do pre-deployment training at Ft. Polke if the training AO at Camp Pendleton is full. they army is gay, just leave it at that
