yeah, dont see any reason why not..if you buy them from the fishmongers, if they sell em, then you cant eat them...oh, try cooking over charcoal...like when somebody gets stranded in an isalnd...over live charcoal..at least you dont hv to worry about sprinkling salt..
Well it depends cause some fish carry diasease and I dont think its really sanatary but if you wash it and shower it with lemon and sesonin I dont see why not.
hope it helped

I'd suggest not eating catfish at all. They belong in a fish tank or in the wild, not in your stomach.
Ok those answers were pretty stupid. Honestly I hook them all the time in the Tampa Bay. I throw them back due to the fact that they taste aweful and cannot be used as chum considering their spines give a reaction of a mild hallucinagen. Not downing the mexicans over here but they will take them if I catch them. I'm assuming they have a taste for them. I really dont know because I do not speak Spanish. I'm assumning if you Have to eat them, then eat them. Otherwise, just go to a freshwater pond at night and use a nightcrawler. Your bound to catch freshwater catfish all night.
In my opinion, saltwater catfish are fine to eat. I eat them and enjoy them. I bake them whole in the oven on 400 degrees for about 30 minutes and enjoy my fresh catch. Best, Mark Palace http://www.PalaceProperties.org
