They are 3rd party apps of which you download off of a downloader app called cydia. Most of apps in cydia are free, but not all of them.

yes all apps are free if you jailbreak it you can get anything for free..music,movies and best of all games! lol but it doesnt matter what type of gen you have either!

apps from the app store arent all suddenly free... but you can get applications from cydia that enable you to download lots of premium itunes apps free. This is illegal though. Don't listen to sashadoll, she clearly has no idea what she's talking about.
