How to use my own photo as an aim icon?

try resizing it to a small size thats compatible.
Then go to Edit preferences [[depending on which version of AIM you have]]
And youll find an icon tab
Click that and then there should be a thing that says browse
click that and itll send you to a document wiht all your pictures.
Click the one you want,and hit OK

it should work
