Anybody who has had children

I am 20 weeks pregnant...I went to the dentist and they chose to pull a tooth in the back of my mouth...they gave me tylenol 3 for pain afterwards...and lordy does it sure hurt right now!!! I havent taken any because I'm freaked out to take anything....

Have you as a pregnant woman ever been prescribed this?

tylenol is the only over the counter meds pregnant women can take when I was pregnant at like 8mnths I cudnt go to sleep so my doc told me to take tylenol pms and boy did they wrk wonders..lol..but yes all pregnant women take tylenol..good luck with the baby...and congrats..

Tylenol 3 is NOT just Tylenol, it has codeine in it.
Missmagic, did you remember to tell your dentist that you were pregnant, and did he tell you it was OK?
If you are not sure, call him, or better yet, call your pediatrician and ask specifically if it is OK.
And while you have them on the phone, ask if you can take additional reg. Tylenol for any lingering pain, and how much / often can you take it.

Yeah, the dentist knew I was pregnant, even if I didn't tell her it's blantantly obvious that I am. I called the doctor (obgyn) lastnight and asked them...they said yes, then I called again today (because I'm a freak) and she said yes just use it sparingly...but like I said, I'm way freaked out...and although my mouth hurts like a son of a gun...Im still not taking it lol.
