Has anyone used windows vista?

I am looking to buy new laptop and wanted to know if anyone has any personal experience with windows vista.

I upgraded by Dell Inspiron 600m to Vista about a month and a half ago. I was impressed with some of the visual features--desktop shortcuts looked nicer, photo thumbnails were more accessible, and stuff like that. However, I couldn't run Aero because of my video card's lack of virtual memory. This meant that all of the really cool visual stuff--the transparent windows, the media center and all that--couldn't even work on my computer. The icing on the cake was it took up GIGS of my harddrive (if you do install it, delete the Old Windows folder it creates-it has all of your old Windows files and is HUGE), and completely sucked up all of my computer's resources. And this computer is less than two years old. In the end, I switched back to XP after only a couple of weeks.
