Anti-aging products

Asked by timid4 about 1 year ago, 2 answers.

There are just so many products out there for this topic. Does anyone really know which gives the best results for the money. Realizing you usually get what you pay for is not always true in the cosmetics family, but I'd really like to see something that actually does show the results they promise. I don't have a lot of sun damage, etc., but still, some brightening and lifting and smoothing wouldn't hurt! I'm not afraid to pay a decent price . . . but for it I'd expect a decent product. Don't suggest Botox, I don't want those chemicals in my system! thanks for any suggestions.

Dear timid4,
Our bodies age naturally and we usually can only help ourselves from the inside like drinking water and eating correctly...don't believe they hype. If you have done this and still find your skin looking rather dull you can use a simple face scrub and a good moisturizer and never forget lots of sunscreen. If it were simple we'd all look 10 years younger but since it isn't and it is mostly genetic we do what we can. Lifting the face can only be done with a face lift and looks very unnatural. So stay healthy, exercise, eat well and use tons of sunscreen and you'll probably see a difference.
Sue...good luck

I am on this same search, but I can tell you this one bit of knowledge that I have learned. Whatever lotion or potion you buy, they will not work like they should unless you are using some sort of peel or dermabrasion on a regular basis. Something like the Oil of Olay Microdermasion, which is not too costly and can be bought at your local drugstore. Only getting rid of the dead or reluctant cells or cells reluctant to slough off will allow the creams or lotions to work as they are supposed to.

And what lotion or potion? Something with Vitamin C is always a winner. Cellex-C is one of the top products. But you need to experiment and see what ingredient your face responds to. Other top ingredients are AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids). Borage oil, both taking the pills and putting on your face has also been popular because it works.
