Can a fat person be anorexic?

yeah just a small question me and one of my friends were talking about it the other day and we couldnt agree on one so the question is...is it true that a person can be anorexic if there fat?
like can they be fat and still be anorexic?

One of the key symptoms in diagnosing anorexia nervosa is, according to the DSMV, Refusal to maintain body weight at or above a minimally normal weight for age and height. So the short answer is no, if someone is fat but has a distorted body image, they only have a body-image distortion disorder. It isn't until they gain a hypersensitive fear of eating and gaining weight, leading to drastic and dangerous weight loss, that they become classified as anorexic.
