How long will America remain a superpower for, approximately? How long do you think America will exist as a country? Give a number of years or a date. Please give suggestions as to what you think. Thank You.

I think by 2050, china will be the worlds superpower, and there is not much we can do about it.

I disagree that China will replace the US as the world's superpower, although that is a popular notion right now. As many problems as we have in the US, CHina's got it worse. China has far too much internal strife to worry about, much more than people are aware. ANd China's economic growth is causing an energy demand the government currently can't meet. The CCP is under a lot of pressure right now, and that stands to cause problems in the future.

A big reason the US is the superpower it is, is because it is the nexus of world trade. A lot of people all over the world depend heavily on doing business with the United States, and I don't see that changing in the next 10-20 years, or even beyond that, even with the current state of our economy, which will rebound.

By 2050, I definately don't think we'll be the only superpower, but I think we'll still have a voice in world affairs.

It all depends on if the oil runs out,. If that happens you can kiss America (as well as the rest of the civilized world) goodbye. Otherwise, we're here to stay. Of course that optimistic assessment is based on the idea that there won't be some frakking disaster or ten that affects us. Imagine, if you will, what would happen if 5 Katrina sized hurricanes ravaged the east coast one fall, and then, sometime in December, a 9.5 earthquake hit the subduction zone off the pacific coast. That would pretty much spell the end for us.
