From the little that I know about the Maldives, the people there surely need a government that will give them a better break. So maybe a democratically elected government will do that. (I think that if I were in your shoes, I'd be more concerned about how it would affect my wife's state of mind.) Good luck to you, your family, and the people of the Maldives.

So, I don't know what this means...but, in the first multi party election in the history of the Maldives, the election just came in: my father in law his running mate won, 53 to 47%.
Apparently, the people have spoken. While this isn't final, as...
they have one ballot box left to count, it's over 98% of the outstanding ballots.
Any ideas what this may mean for south asia?
