Am I underweight?

I was 5’3” in may and I weighed 109 then I lost six pounds so I’m 103 and I want to weigh 98 pounds. I am eating 500 calories a day.

  If you weighed 105 pounds you would be in the 50 percentile of girls your height and age. I don’t think you should lose any weight. You might, however, do more exercising to tone up your muscles which would cause you to lose a little fat but wouldn’t change your weight. As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

well.. eating 500 calories a day is definitely not healthy… you look really skinny already, you shouldn’t be trying to lose more weight.. call me cheesy but it’s not always about what numbers are on the scale, it’s how you feel about yourself.

girl, im am 14 and I weigh 99Lbs and im 5 ft, and people tell me im underwieght, so yeah, I think 98 is a lil underweight. and I don’t think 500 calories a day is healthy… its supposed to be like…2,000 or 1,500 or sm like that

yes you are underweight. and if you lose more to become 98lbs you will be very underweight and unhealthy. you need to start increasing ure food intake slowly. otherwise you will end up in the hospital or something. (I’ve been there)

fight the urges to lose weight. you r already underweight.

You should have, at least, 1000 calories a day. Watch your fat intake. You don’t need to lose weight but for a healthy diet and to not gain weight, you shouldn’t have but about 30 to 50 grams of fat daily. There are sites you can go to and calculate how many calories and fat grams based on your weight and if you want to lose or gain.

Go to google.com and type in ‘women fat grams calculate’.
