Am i an atheist?

Am I an Atheist if I don't believe in much of what the Bible says? Maybe if there was a forward written by a higher being I'd think differently...I just don't trust human written books 2000+ years old. I know I'm not an evil person...what am I?

I think you should start at the beginning and read the bible for yourself make your own assumptions about what you think it is telling you or ask questions here and see how many different answers you get then you can pick the ones that make sense to you and maybe add those people to your friends list so you can go to them with questions, the bible is real and there are always those out there that want to discredit it by turning the words around that is why you are better off to read it yourself.

You may not be an atheist but you are very close to it.

Atheist means you dont believe in a god.. if you dont believe in god. your an atheist. if your not sure.. your agnostic

No trust me I feel the same way... I do believe in GOD...but I really dont follow or trust a lot of things in the bible or anything written by man thousands of years ago...so no your no Atheists if anythinhg your just an open-minded person who just calls it like it is

I definitely don't think you are an atheist. You are just confused and not sure what to believe and what not to.

An Atheist is some who does not believe in anything supernatural, including a deity.

An Agnostic is someone who believes that at the present time it's impossible to know the truth. Agnostics believe that there's not sufficient grounds either for affirmation or for denial of anything supernatural existing. Or simply put, agnostics are skeptical but might still practice a certain belief.

Atheists do not believe in any sort of gods. Period. They may or may not believe in the supernatural. Look at the original Greek: a (without) theism (belief in gods). There are atheists who believe in ghosts and such.

So if you DO believe in some sort of god, you aren't atheist. If you DON'T believe in any kind of god, you are. Very simple.

Having difficulty believing the Bible does not make you an Atheist. The Bible has translated and retranslated many times by many different people. It is the word of God as long as it is translated correctly, but admittedly, there have been changes throughout the centuries. I could say more, but I don't know if you'd even be interested. I agree with Peewee. If you truly want a relationship with God, go to his word, with an open mind, and a pure heart. Asking for him to reveal him self to you. Asking him to lead you into the truth, and away from error. Doubt will keep us from God. We have to get past that, in order to believe. God is more than willing to help you do just that. He is real, and he is waiting for everyone that makes the decision to seek him. He will never turn you away, and he will work with you to find the truth.

His word was first given to ones that believe, thru the spirit, later it was put together, in book form. It has gone from believer, to believer, ever since. Do you not believe that a God that can create the universe, and everything within, is not able to keep and protect his own word?

If you don't believe in any gods, then you're an atheist. Otherwise you are not. It has nothing to do with the Bible.

Not believing in the words of the bible does not make you an atheist - it just makes you sceptical, rational, and logical.

If you do not believe there is a god - then you are an atheist, and it's nothing to be afraid of. After all, are you afraid of going to Allah's hell?

athiest means you dont have religion... fi you believe in god and stuff just not some parts you arent most people dont believe everything the bible says but that doesnt mean they dont believe
