Q: Am I a living joke or is this a good different?

So, I have this Myspace and I think it's getting in the way of meeting people. Yeah, I know...IT'S A MYSPACE, but everytime I talk to a person and they see the Myspace I never hear from them again. I have a theme for it. My name on it is "I'M REAL", because I got cheated on and I know I will never put someone through that. Also, I don't drink or smoke and there's a banner for that on there. Plus, I am into smooth jazz a little, which might scare people away, considering I am only 21, but I like every kind of music except rap and classical. The page is just displaying who I am, and I have got to serious thinking. Maybe I should act like someone I am not, and take all this off, but what ever happened to just being yourself?!? I know if people would just see that as just being a myspace and look past it, they would see how fun and how great of a person I can be. I would like some opinions guys. Thank you very much for all your help.

A: Just be yourself!!! =) You shouldn't have to change who you are or pretend to be someone your not, just to please other people. Be yourself and be REAL! Good Luck!

A: Well, alexis, there's being yourself, and then there's knowing how to present who you are in a way that isn't off-putting to others. For instance, I really like nerding out to things like sci-fi and video games, but I also understand that I'm in the minority as far as most people go. So when I meet people for the first time, I don't immediately start raving about my Xbox. I'm still being myself, but I'm not flaunting those things about myself that might give people pause. "Be yourself" is an oft-touted piece of advice that really needs more qualification to it. A better tip would be "Don't pretend to be someone you're not, but if hundreds of people keep fleeing your Myspace profile, you might want to consider the fact that you're presenting yourself wrong."

A: BE YOURSELF PLS, there are so many fake people on there, and pls dont be like them, like its been said, the lie bout their age, weight, height, where they live, even their status, and then theres posers, who also lie bout a certain celeb or whatever, but thats just because they want some attention or to hurt someone b/c they are popular in sports or whatever, dont be like these people and just be yourself
