you could be falling asleep because your not into the subject and your bored... so you realize how tired you are. I had the same problem in high school only with algebra. I used to tap my foot (lightly so you don't annoy anyone) and tried to focus on something i thought was more interesting... Like how many gray hairs my teacher had and he was only 25. try to keep yourself entertained and like the other answer said... Try caffeinne or sugar... but try to drink/eat it about 30 minutes before class so it has time to kick your system into gear.
