Why he might have ended it with me?

Ok so this guy I've known for a year through a class at school and I decided to start seeing eachother over the summer. In late june, he went overseas to see his family. When he got back he didnt contact me at all. I didnt want to text him thinking that...

it would make me seem obsessive.we have a class together now so on the first day back I ran into him and we chatted a little bit(it was his birthday) but we sat away from eachother. After that, he wouldnt talk to me at all(not even a text). My sister is also in that class and shes very over protective of me. About two weeks later, I decided to just text him and figure all this out. I told him that I needed extra help he agreed to meet me on campus to go over some classwork.he never texted me or showed up. That same day, I texted him again and he said that he didnt want to start off where we left. I took this as him breaking up with me. He opted to remain friends and I rejected. Now in class, every one knows and its super awkward. Can someone please tell me why he might have ended it with me? and how should I handle this?thanks!

Don't talk to him, and date other guys. Whenever your around him, pretend like you don't even notice he is there. It will make him beg to have you back. Trust me it works, I've done it.
