Yep - because 16 is a minor. I don't see why a 21-year-old would be dating a 16-year-old in the first place. It would be illegal to have sex, that's called statutory rape. There's nothing wrong with 5 years apart, but when 1 is a minor, it becomes a problem.

well 5 years apart is not all that much if you think about it. my grandparents are 13 years apart, so it just depends on how he treats you. If he's going to treat you like most guys do, then maybe a little more time to allow him to mature. if he treats you like guys should treat you, then the age difference doesn't really matter. In the end it is up to you, but I'd say if he's mature enough, and as long as you feel you are mature enough as well, then I'd say that its not too big of an age difference.

Hi, I just read a couple your other questions, hey, if you are talking about the same guy as in 'confused, why do I get jealous' then RESPECT, that guy is worth trusting, trust and respect are what you need for a good relationship, everything else somes from that, so if it's the same guy, go for it, age is irrelevant.

Legalities? who cares about legalities, if you love eachother, then thats all that matters right? if you do truly love her, then no amount of laws will take that away from you. however, if the guy is intending to take advantage of the girl, then there is a problem.
