African grey parrot is sick

My african grey parrot is sick...his left eye is swollen but there is no sign that he hurt himself, he's not eating well and before he used to speak a lot morning time but now he did not utter even a single word...we will be going to a vet this afternun since im still waiting for my husband...but any first aid???pls help...tnx...

I'm sorry, that's never happened to mine. Every time she was sick though we used the red light, kept her in a dark room
Her wings were broken when she was younger, it took a couple of years but they healed by themselves.
(we didnt have any vets around back then)

They're amazingly resistant creatures, I'm sure he'll be fine.
