I would check your breed or call your Vet's office, some breeds are on puppy chow longer then others. Boxer stay on puppy chow longer then other dogs
I've always had GSD's and they are pulled off puppy food very early due to growing too fast...
I'd think a Terrier would be fine to change over to maintence food by 8 months...

Hi there,
At my shelter we keep the dogs on Puppy Chow until 1 year, then we switch to Dog Chow. A large reason for the puppy chow is to help them gain weight, since it is higher in fat. If the pup is a healthy weight, you'll probably be able to change it safely within a month.
I'll wait til he's 1 year old, he could use the extra fat, hes very active and burns his calories easily!

At what age do you start adult dog food
Send me Fun Mail
When or what age should you start feeding your puppy adult food?
We give my 8 month old pup Iam proactive Smart puppy health food. But im really into the naturaul stuff, but I can only find natrual dog food for adult dogs. When can I feed him adult doggy food? I know its too early right now, though.
Thanks
