How can i ge into acting?

I really want to start acting, but I don't know were to start. got any ideas

I would say follow your dreams to either Hollywood or New York, and yes there is a difference in both places.

With New York: You get experience on stage, and I consider it harder work, but it also helps when you want to get into movies.

With Hollywood: You can audition for movies, or you can start out small and work your way up. Like registering to become an extra (pays good money saw on Reelz channel), and from an extra who knows! Audition more, you can score an agent.

These are for after you graduate, if your still in school some more years, just go to places in New York or L.A. that have creative schools for acting, singing, dancing, etc. Or for college you can go to Julliard in New York, that is all the information I have.

I had dreams of being an actress myself, but I threw those out, when I realized that I want to be in the movie business, but not in front of the lense. Behind it like a director, producer, etc. Something of importance that would work. I aspire mostly to be director, editor, etc. You can even work from one of those jobs to acting even (not producing or directing, but like from gaffer, anything on set!)

what I would do is ask your drama teacher at school if they know of any groups that teach acting if you dont get anywhere with that look around your local area I.e community centres theres bound to be something

Well if you're still in school, try out for the school play or the school musical to get a little experience. you want to get comfortable on stage first before trying anything larger.

It depends on where you live check out your local theater not movie theater or look up an agency in your phone book cause thats how Josh Hutenson got famous.
