About how much do contacts cost?

I'm thinking about asking for contacts from my parent. He has insurance, but how much, on average would it cost?

I pay $150 every 6 months for mine. If its the first time, they'll probably add a consulting fee (they want to charge you for showing how to put them in, lol)

My eye doc. said that they would be bout 300 for the first time then like 100 a month. But I decided just to keep my glasses because that is really expensive, and I have insurance. And plus I only have to wear them when im driving so glasses will be fine for that. if you want colord ones they cost more.
