Okay... I been taking birth control..for awhile now daily everyday...I have to miss 1 day cause I couldnt make it to the pharmancy on time... So I will miss tonight but right in the morning I am going to pick up the pills and take that one pill that I missed the night before... Plus later on tomorrow night I will take another so I am doubleing up on my dose tomorrow... When do you think I can have s*x again unprotected without a chance of getting pregnant???

Ok,so dont be naive about your birth control.. It is not 100% effective, so there fore there is always a chance you could get pregnant I would consider you going ahead, and waiting a week or two, just so it continues it's regulation, anyways, good luck. :]

Ha.. what a coincidence... I'm in the same situation. right now. My dr. told me that if I don't miss any more pills in the pack, I should be find. The chances or pregnancy are still miniscule (not impossible). I wouldnt worry about it.

7 days.

That's the rule of thumb I always go by. If in doubt, wait 7 days until you KNOW you're completely protected again. (it takes 7 days for the pill to be completely effective) Because your chances of pregnancy are increased when missing any pill but especially either the last pill in the pack(before the placebos) or the first pill.

Many of the pill leaflets have been changed from doubling up - for a good reason - it's not reliable. So you may have old information. (So meganhead your doc may have old info as well.)

Doubling up your dose isn't really going to do much but make you go through your pack faster. Wait the 7 days and use condoms in the meantime.

**unprotected without a chance...u will NEVER be able to have unprotected sex and not have a chance of getting pregnant...**
-- Actually the pill is 99.9% effective in preventing pregnancy if used correctly. so it's less than 'A CHANCE' .01%. It's actually 1/10th of a chance.

maybe it depends on the type you are taking. I'm just going to go with what my dr said. He's never steered me wrong.

For *most* birth control pills it's 7 days until it is effective however most doctors and gynos will tell you to wait a month just so you get into the routine of taking a pill everyday.

If you're unsure talk to your health care provider or pharmacist and as you should always do, check your information leaflet with your pills.
