Is it normal to have an irregular period?

Asked by annonomus about 1 year ago, 13 answers.

I have had my period since I was around 13-14. Well my periods are sort of irregular. Last year I'd have 1 every other month or every 2 months. I had 1 in dedcember, then january so my last on was around january 16 - january 23, 2008 I do believe. I have...

not had one since then. So am I normal? I know I am not pregnant. Although I have humped a pillow in the past *I did the month of january and like 1 time this month... I was bored lol* but unlike my friend's sis... I know that I can not become pregnant from humping a pillow correct? I thought so lol. I have never had actual sex yet... So therefore, no sperm has ever been near my vagina... So it's like impossible for pregnancy to be a thought as to why my period is like this right?

So am I normal or what? Also any ideas as to why I skip/have irregular ones? Could my irregular periods/skipping months be due to the fact that I don't have a normal cycle yet cause I'm not an adult?

Any advice/help would be appercitaed

Thanks =]

lol...I won't say you're normal...but having your period once a month is normal. having irregular periods has something to do with your hormones.

want to switch? I have my period every month no fail. Maybe you should take birth control to regulate your periods more. But if that doesn't bother you so much, its absolutely normal and you have nothing to worry about! However, at your next check up definitely ask your dr. about it

Think you're normal. I have irregular period too. But mine is more extreme. I have period once in about 2-4 months. I remember when I suffered EDs, I dont have period for more than 6 months. (Due to malnutrition). So girl, maybe because you did not eat healthy or maybe you're born like that.
